Jim Rutenberg Switches to New York Times Magazine

Jim Rutenberg is leaving the newspaper side of The New York Times for the magazine side. Capital New York reports that Rutenberg has been named chief political correspondent for the Times Magazine.

Rutenberg has been with the Times since 2000, most recently serving as national political correspondent. During his time at the paper, he has also served as City Hall bureau chief.

Rutenberg is succeeding Matt Bai, who left the Times in November to join Yahoo.
