The New York Times’ website has crashed. Please note our funny headline. Thanks.

This pretty much never happens, but has been down since about 11:15 am. That’s a long time for the one place millions go for their news.

We’ve reached out to the Times to see what happened, and we’ll update when we get word back. For now, enjoy some Times’ staffers jokes about the outage.

Update (12:45 pm):
Almost two hours now and is still down. This has got to be approaching a record. Fox Business is reporting that the site is under a “cyber attack,” but until that’s confirmed, take it with a grain of salt.

Update (1:01 pm):

Update (1:42 pm):
Most of is now functional. We also received the following statement from a Times spokesperson: “The outage occurred within seconds of a scheduled maintenance update, which we believe was the cause. We are working on fully restoring access to the site.”
