– The New York Times and New York University will finally launch its joint project to cover the East Village on September 13. The hyperlocal project titled The Local East Village will be the NYT’s first foray in covering a specific Manhattan neighborhood. Of course, the East Village blogosphere isn’t happy with the launch, declaring war on the new venture. Talk about a great introduction into the New York City media scene for those NYU students working on the project.
