Bloomberg LP has just announced the formation of Bloomberg Media Group, which will bring all of Bloomberg’s media properties under one (figurative) roof. Starting today, all business operations from Bloomberg Businessweek, Bloomberg Market, Bloomberg Television, Bloomberg Radio, Bloomberg.com, and Bloomberg Mobile will be handled by the Bloomberg Media Group.
Paul Bascobert, who continues to serve as President of Businessweek, has been named Head of Business Operations, and will report to Bloomberg Media Group’s CEO Andy Lack.
This is just the latest move from Michael Bloomberg to push his influence beyond politics. Gathering all the media entities into one giant company certainly makes it easier to accomplish that goal. It also makes us think of Voltron, but you’re not here to read about cartoons featuring kids who piloted robot lions. Or are you…?
