Barry Weiss Jumps From Sony To Universal Music Group

Although it may not be on the same scale as Benedict Arnold’s defection from the Continental to the British Army, Barry Weiss’s move from Sony Music Entertainment to the rival Universal Music Group is sure to raise some eyebrows in the music industry.  According to NYT’s Media Decoder, Weiss’s deal with UMG has been discussed for weeks and was confirmed this morning by a spokeswoman from the RCA/Jive Label Group division that Weiss oversaw at Sony.
