Bad News Tuesday: Layoffs And Buyouts

The (New Jersey) Star-Ledger is looking to reduce its workforce by 50 people. If the paper can’t get enough staff to take the buyout, “we will need to resort to other ways of reducing our employee costs,” publisher George Arwady wrote in a memo obtained by the New York Times. Last year, the paper reduced staff by almost 150, or 40 percent.

Condé Nast has cut seven people at Glamour on the sales side.
