Why Washington D.C. Gossip Sucks
The undisputed champion of shitty gossip in town is WaPo’s The UnReliable Source. Day after day, they churn out stories that have no connection to D.C. and aren’t particularly interesting. In other words, they’re reliably awful. What have they churned out this time? They have a blurb on country singer Luke Bryan, who sang the National Anthem at the MLB All-Star Game. He had a rough time with the song and appeared to keep looking at a cheat sheet he had in his hand. Exciting, right? Anyway, he apologized and no one cares. Except for The Reliable Source. Not content with venturing into the sports world, the column swings into fashion. They report on the divorce of fashionista Vera Wang and her husband, Arthur Becker. Again, no connection to their home turf. Nothing political. Why even bother?
