Townhall announced Wednesday that longtime D.C. journalist, Conn Carroll, has been named managing editor of Townhall Magazine.
According to a release, Carroll joins an expanded crew of “top notch” young, full-time journalists at Townhall/HotAir as the 2014 election cycle is about to begin: Katie Pavlich, Guy Benson, Mary Katharine Ham, Ed Morrissey, and Erika Johnsen are part of the “diverse and expanding” team.
“Conn brings a wealth of journalistic experience to our ever growing print publication, Townhall Magazine,” Townhall Veep and GM Jonathan Garthwaite said. “We’re thrilled to bring aboard such a qualified and talented person to lead Townhall Magazine.”
Carroll’s history…Most recently, he worked at the Washington Examiner. Before that: National Review Institute, and National Journal’s “The Hotline.” He was assistant director of strategic communications for the Heritage Foundation, where he created the rapid-response blog The Foundry and the think tank’s Morning Bell email newsletter.
