On this day in history… The United States Supreme Court made a landmark decision on the issue of abortion back in 1973.
The cases of Doe v. Bolton, and the more widely known, Roe v. Wade, turned 42 years old today — as the Supreme court ruled that a state law which had banned abortions, except to save the life of the mother, was unconstitutional.
Today, thousands are expected to march on the National Mall in Washington, DC in opposition to this ruling that affirmed a woman’s right to an abortion.
