You’d think NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell would know the name of his Fox News Sunday interviewer over the weekend in Arlington, Texas.
But, no. He didn’t.
Chris Wallace: Aren’t the owners the only people who are going to benefit from adding two games?
Goodell: Obviously not, Mike. I couldn’t disagree more.”(Was he thinking, “Mike Wallace,” his father, or “Mike Wallace” the African American wide receiver for the Pittsburgh Steelers? Either “Mike” was erroneous.)
Wallace then remarked on players and injuries in the two additional games as compared to the exhibition games.
Goodell: Unfortunately, Mike…
Wallace finally interrupted and said pointedly, “I’m Chris.”
At the very end of the segment, Goodell makes a point to get the host’s name right.
He said, “Thanks, Chris.”
