AP's Brett Zongker Is Going Back to School

He has taken a position at George Washington University.

The Associated Press’ Brett Zongker is joining George Washington University (GWU) as senior associate director of media relations.

Zongker has covered arts, culture, entertainment and nonprofits in D.C. for the Associated Press for 11 years, and his work has been published by The New York Times, MSNBC and USA Today.

According to Candace Smith, assistant vice president of media relations at GWU, Zongker will be a spokesperson for the university and will also work on media relations and strategy and other related projects.

A former journalist herself, Smith believes that journalists bring “excellent writing and communications skills” to any position.
