'WSJ' Names New Page One Editor in Newsroom Shuffle

Three top editors get promotions

Wall Street Journal Page One Editor and Deputy Managing Editor Alix Freedman’s decision to move to Reuters (along with every other journalist, it appears) has led to some shuffling at her old newspaper.

"Our Troika is in transition," WSJ managing editor Robert Thomson told staffers Friday in a memo in which he announced a trio of new appointments, all promoted “from within the luxuriant ranks of our homegrown talent.”

Replacing Freedman as Page One editor and deputy managing editor will be Rebecca Blumenstein.
