Continuing its hire-a-day trend for the week, the Washington Post adds Megan H. Chan, who comes on board as director of digital operations. Chan arrives from Politico, where she is the director of digital products.
Chan, whose first day is July 11, will oversee the Post’s continuing digital transformation on all fronts, including working to maximize traffic, seeking out new platforms, creating new digital products and identifying improvement areas in all departments.
As part of that effort, Chan will make regular, extensive ventures outside her own department, working with reporters and editors across the newsroom to identify their needs.
Chan has spent the past five years at Politico, the last two in her current role. As a senior editor before that, she helped launch Politico Magazine. Before joining Politico, she was the online Washington editor at USA Today.
