Know what’s not even remotely interesting? QR codes. Know what’s even less interesting? Hill interns who like QR codes. Know who’s in-the-know on both of these things? The Hill‘s gossip columnist Judy Kurtz (a.k.a. Howeesha).
As if to relate a scandalous secret, Kurtz wrote on Monday “WE HEAR: One staffer for Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-Calif.) is awfully excited about a new high-tech addition that lies right outside the congresswoman’s door in the Cannon House Office Building.”
That “high-tech addition” is a QR code, one of those black and white symbols smartphones can scan to activate applications and other data.
Kurtz continues, writing that she “has obtained an email from a staff assistant apparently about to burst with joy over the installation of the cool, 21st-century doodad. The message was sent to a listserv with the subject, ‘QR Codes are FUN!!!!!'”
Whoa! Is this what it feels like to be a Washington insider?!
