DC peeps, you might wanna look out your window or find the nearest rooftop around noon today.
Don’t be alarmed, we aren’t being invaded by ze Germans… Beginning at 12:10 PM, 56 WWII-era warbirds in 15 formations will fly over the National Mall’s restricted airspace in honor of VE Day and the heroes who fought in the Second World War.
For those of you who are historically-challenged, VE Day (aka Victory Europe Day) marks the anniversary of the unconditional surrender of Nazi Germany to the Allied Forces.
Cue the USA chants…
