TechCrunch has suspended–and then dismissed–a teenage intern who solicited a MacBook Air from a startup in exchange for coverage.
Michael Arrington’s apology to readers has already received hundreds of comments and has been retweeted more than 1,000 times.
“We are all shaken here at TechCrunch,” he wrote. “This is someone who was our friend and who we trusted to be honest with our readers. Our hope is that the intern learns something from this experience and grows into the kind of person that will be more welcome in this community.”
The intern in question, Daniel Brusilovsky, wrote about the experience on his own blog, sort of.
I guess they don’t teach ethics in high school journalism classes anymore.
