An ABC release states that according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of September 25, 2006, ABC News “Nightline” “posted its best Total Viewer number since November 21, 2005. This is the highest Total Viewer number since the program’s re-launch last November.”
Meanwhile, an NBC release stated that “Meet the Press'” Senate Debate series “continued to draw large numbers last Sunday, outperforming the public affairs competition in all categories for the week ending Sunday, October 1, 2006.” The OH Senate Debate attracted 3.656 million total viewers, 33% more than CBS “Face the Nation’s” 2.753 million, an 67% more than ABC “This Week’s” 2.183 million, and 162% more than FOX “News Sunday’s” 1.396 million.
