Storify Wins $10,000 Knight-Batten Award

San Francisco-based social networking/community storytelling site Storify is $10,000 wealthier after winning the 2011 Knight-Batten Award for Innovations in Journalism. “In Storify, we see a journalism tool that truly solves a newsroom problem and also inspires others to challenge the way they’ve been telling stories,” Knight-Batten judge Amy Webb said of the winner.

The Bay Citizen‘s Bike Tracker initiative, which plots thousands of Bay Area bike accidents and road conditions on an interactive map, was cited for an honorable mention by Knight-Batten judges.
