Rupert Murdoch's Bad Week

First, News Corp. head honcho Rupert Murdoch lost his wedding ring. Now, he has to deal with the fact that his son, James Murdoch, passed pops on the Guardian‘s annual MediaGuardian 100 power list.

James, chairman of satellite broadcaster BSkyB in Britain and News Corp. Europe and Asia’s chairman and chief executive, ranked second behind the Google boys, while his father ranked fifth. Last year, the pair’s rankings were reversed.

The list only takes into account people’s “cultural, economic and political influence in the UK,” so Rupert can be comforted knowing that he’s still more important in the States.
