President Praises Hanks At Kennedy Center Honors
President Barack Obama saluted this year’s Kennedy Center honorees last night — Tom Hanks, Lily Tomlin, Sting, Al Green and Patricia McBride — but heaped particular praise on Academy award-winning actor, Tom Hanks.
“Tom’s career began just like so many Hollywood legends — dressing in drag for a show called ‘Bosom Buddies,’ kung-fu fighting The Fonz on ‘Happy Days’” joked the President.
“As the years passed, he told us ‘there’s no crying in baseball,’ ‘life is like a box of chocolates.’
