First, an internal announcement, obtained by FishbowlDC:
We’re delighted to announce that Lynne Duke has been promoted to assignment editor on Style’s features desk. Lynne is a versatile and accomplished reporter who worked in National, Foreign and Metro before joining Style seven years ago. Among the highlights: She was the Post’s Johannesburg bureau chief from 1995 to 1999 and is the author of “Mandela, Mobutu and Me: A Newswoman’s African Journey.” For the past three months, she’s been filling in as an editor and we’re very happy to make this a permanent assignment. The enthusiasm and fierce dedication that distinguishes her work as a writer makes her a most welcome addition in this new role.
And Len Downie sent out this staff note after Super Tuesday:
Super thanks to all of you who contributed to our league-leading coverage of this historic election on the web site and in the paper.
The web coverage could not have been faster, fuller or easier to use.
The newspaper could not have been more comprehensive, readable and attractive. The cooperation among staffs in our newsroom and with the
staff at washingtonpost.com could not have been better. Len
