Portfolio’s New Publisher: William Li

20080114mensvogue.jpgCondé Nast has chosen a new publisher for Portfolio and they’ve decided on(drumroll)… William Li. The last time we checked up on Li was back in 2005, when he was named as publisher of Men’s Vogue. After approximately 1.5 years, he’s off to yet another CN property.

So here’s a thumbnail biography of Li:

  • Became Publisher of Men’s Vogue in October 2005.
  • Associate Publisher of The New Yorker from April 2004-October 2005.
  • Advertising Director of The New Yorker from January 2002-April 2004.
  • Pre-The New Yorker stints as Publisher of HomeStyle, Associate Publisher and Advertising Director of House & Garden and at House Beautiful.

Our take on it is that he’s a relative newcomer to Condé who’s obviously proved his agility at climbing the corporate ladder and can show results. We’re looking forward to it.
