Peter Finn joins WaPo’s National Section

An internal Washington Post announcement, obtained by FishbowlDC:

We’re pleased to announce that Peter Finn has joined the National staff to write about national security matters. His initial focus will be to assume Josh White’s detainee portfolio — expect him to spend a good chunk of the winter in sunny Gitmo — but his writ will also extend to other defense and intelligence issues. Peter is a gifted storyteller who joins us after a distinguished run in Foreign, most recently in Moscow, and before that in Berlin and Warsaw. After the September 11 attacks, he traveled extensively across the Middle East and Europe to reconstruct the activities of the terrorists and describe the metastasis of Al Qaeda. He joined The Post in 1995 as a reporter on the Virginia staff.
