The New York Times has promoted one staffer and added another. Details are below.
- Matt Ericson has been promoted from deputy graphics director to associate editor. According to a memo from executive editor Dean Baquet and product and technology editor Kinsey Wilson, Ericson “will fill a critical gap in the newsroom, working with leaders in news, design, graphics, product and technology to establish a vision for how we present our journalism across all platforms — whether print, mobile or web.”
- Ryan McCarthy has joined the Times’ audience development team. He previously served as an assistant business editor at The Washington Post. Prior to that, McCarthy was the deputy editor of Reuters.com.
