Media Twitter is all fine and good, but everyone knows NBA Twitter is the best. To our delight, that partnership is expanding. The NBA has inked a deal to create original programming for Twitter, Vine and Periscope.
The first of the two new entries will be a weekly, pregame show. The show will air on Twitter and be available to Twitter users and those who are not registered. Details about the second show were scarce.
The NBA-Twitter deal will also bring double the amount of game highlights broadcasted on Twitter and Vine.
“Twitter is the fastest way to find out what’s happening in the NBA and to have a discussion about it,” said Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey, in an announcement. “Watching NBA basketball together with Twitter is a great experience, and the league has been at the forefront of embracing new ways to reach their fans. We’re happy to bring even more great NBA content to our global audience.”
