Montreal Newspaper Makes a Monumental Print Decision

In a few months, print will only be available on "le weekend."

Starting Jan. 1, those Internet synergies will become even more entrenched. Per an announcement today, the French-language daily founded in 1884 will do away with all weekday print editions. The only thing left to hold, in the print hand, will be the Saturday edition. According to Toronto Globe & Mail media reporter James Bradshaw, La Presse is in better shape than most when it comes to relative ad rates:

The newspaper now derives more than 60 per cent of its revenue from the tablet edition, which now draws higher ad rates than the print paper.
