Merrill Presumed Dead

A huge, collective sense of loss pervades Washington this morning, as search and rescue crews now assume that publisher Philip Merrill could not have survived such a duration in the water.

The Washingtonian magazine has removed his name from the masthead and replaced it with Philip’s wife, Eleanor.

Our thoughts are with his friends, family and colleagues.
