Jared Paul Stern Doesn’t Have a Case to Stand On

jared_paul_sterngsm.jpgThe AP is reporting that a New York judge has tossed the defamation lawsuit former New York Post gossip columnist Jared Paul Stern brought against the Daily News newspaper, supermarket mogul (and Air F*#K One flier) Ron Burkle, and Bill and Hillary Rodham Clinton saying that Stern hadn’t proved his case.

According to FishbowlNY’s coverage at the time, the initial court documents, which Stern filed back in 2006 (after denying Burkle’s claim that he had “demanded money to squelch negative news”) alleged that a March 22, 2006 meeting was,

A “set-up” arranged by Burkle and secretly videotaped by Burkle’s security team, “directed by Defendant Renzi, an ex Secret Service agent formerly in the employ of Bill Clinton and head of security for Burkle’s investment firm Yucaipa Cos., and disreputable private investigator Richard Di Sabatino, without Mr. Stern’s knowledge or consent.”
According to the AP Stern has yet to comment on this latest development.
