Holiday Fireworks Take Two Positions in Weekly Top Five

The Macy’s Annual Fourth of July Fireworks Special was the highest-rated program for the week, according to the Nielsen Company.

The fireworks and entertainment show had an estimated 2 million WNBC viewers and 9.9 rating in the 9 p.m. hour. At 10 p.m., the spectacle took number four, but dropped off considerably (768,000/3.8).

Also on WNBC, America’s Got Talent was second-best for the week with 828,000 tuned in and a 4.1 rating during its two-hour episode on July 5.
