Hearst + Sears + Yahoo = New Media Deal-O-Rama

Hearst Magazines wants to diversify. Their media empire has taken a harder hit from the digital transition than certain other companies — which may have encouraged them to enter upcoming deals with Sears and Yahoo!.

  • Sears: The troubled department store chain (who, of course, also own Kmart) has entered into a huge multimedia deal with Hearst, which is creating a cobranded website and a 32-page booklet titled “Reimagine You” that will be distributed with Hearst magazines and newspapers.
