At the beginning of August, we highlighted – as we sometimes like to – a noteworthy NYC journalism job ad. So it seemed only natural to let you know who went on to land this particular choice gig.
Moving over October 14 from The New Yorker to The Guardian as U.S. news editor is Alex Koppelman. From today’s announcement:
“Alex brings a wealth of experience and a unique perspective that will help us move into the next phase of our growth as a firmly entrenched U.S. news operation,” said Guardian U.S. editor Janine Gibson.
“I’m very excited to join The Guardian‘s rapidly growing U.S. newsroom. Their agenda-setting reporting of the past few months has shown clearly how, as a global news organization, it’s leading the way in changing how news is being delivered and consumed,” said Koppelman. “It’s an honor to be part of such a great publication, and to work with its talented and dedicated team of reporters and editors.”
Prior to working as a writer-editor for The New Yorker‘s “News Desk,” Koppelman was news editor at Adweek and a senior writer at Salon. Congrats.
