Fun Drive Fun

Our usual morning regimen includes NPR, and of course the Newsfeed, but this week’s fund drive on WNYC (do they purposely make it sound like “Fun Drive”?), got us flipping around the dial.

Today we flipped right to go Left, and while WBAI was doing its own desperate-sounding drive — “Please send money!” “”Come on down. Help us answer phones. We need volunteers!”” — they also treated us to excerpts from the CD that accompanies the book “Feet to the Fire: The Media After 9/11, Top Journalists Speak Out” edited by Kristina Borjesson. Helen Thomas gripes about the current administration, Ted Koppel expounds on the state of journalistic affairs. The podcast of the 7 a.m. segment has what we heard. This is fun stuff, if you’re as media-obsessed as we.
