Good news for job seekers! If you’re in the market for a new gig, listen up.
Per a forecast published by CareerBuilder, almost three out of 10 employers plan to hire full-time employees prior to December 31.
This number is four percentage higher than last year’s data. Let’s not forget about seasonal opportunities either. One out of four employers anticipate hiring seasonal workers. This includes 43 percent of retailers.
Matt Ferguson, CEO of CareerBuilder and co-author of The Talent Equation, explains in a press release:
“After experiencing incremental improvements over the past few years, the U.S. labor market is nearing a tipping point.
The jobs outlook for Q4 is now more in line with pre-recession forecasts as employers cast a greater vote of confidence in both permanent and seasonal hiring. What’s also encouraging is that recruitment plans for small businesses with more than 50 employees are keeping pace with larger organizations. We’ll continue to see a spotlight on jobs and wages in the upcoming elections and beyond as we strive for an even stronger employment environment in 2015.”
So, if you’re picking up speed with your networking and job search thinking by Thanksgiving if you don’t have a job it’s game over until January, think again. Employers are definitely hiring and they’re looking for you to fill their requisitions!
