Cutbacks Expected at WRC
An announcement today at WRC, DC’s local NBC affiliate, has left the newsroom “very worried.”
According to our sources, the station will put a new content center system in place, similar to changes made at NBC affiliate WNBC in New York and in progress at WMAQ in Chicago. This new system would essentially combine the role of writers and editors, cutting jobs. Reporters and photogs are not affected so far and we hear staffers being cut will be offered severance packages.
