Flexing its strength as a global news organization, CNN Worldwide has deployed more than a dozen of its top correspondents to the Middle East and to the G8 Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, as attacks escalated in Israel and Lebanon. Anderson Cooper will report live from Israel today as well as anchor Anderson Cooper 360 tonight from 10 p.m. to midnight (ET).

Network Deploys Correspondents to Middle East for Breaking News Coverage, Russia for G8 Reaction

Flexing its strength as a global news organization, CNN Worldwide has deployed more than a dozen of its top correspondents to the Middle East and to the G8 Summit in St. Petersburg, Russia, as attacks escalated in Israel and Lebanon. Anderson Cooper will report live from Israel today as well as anchor Anderson Cooper 360 tonight from 10 p.m. to midnight (ET).

The network’s coverage of the turmoil will include live reports throughout the day from CNN correspondents in the region, taking advantage of the network’s two full-time bureaus in Jerusalem and Beirut, Lebanon. Senior international correspondent Nic Robertson and Rome bureau chief Alessio Vinci will report from Beirut. Jerusalem-based correspondent John Vause will report from the northern border of Israel and Lebanon; Cairo bureau chief Ben Wedeman from the Gaza Strip; international video correspondent Paula Hancocks from Safed, Israel; international correspondent Paula Newton from Jerusalem; and Baghdad correspondent Aneesh Raman from Damascus, Syria.

Chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour joins CNN’s coverage live from Jerusalem beginning on Sunday, July 16.

CNN’s White House correspondents Ed Henry and Suzanne Malveaux will provide regular updates on reaction from the Bush administration as they travel with President George W. Bush on his trip to the G8 Summit in St. Petersburg. Senior international correspondent Matthew Chance and international video correspondent Ryan Chilcote will provide additional reaction from the summit.

Coverage will appear across all CNN Worldwide platforms, including CNN/U.S., Headline News and CNN International. CNN.com will provide late breaking news, free video and updates as events unfold.
