Walmart Makes Room for CBS Glossy Magazine Watch!

Starting this fall, the bi-monthly publication will be available at more than 2,000 Walmart locations.

When the CBS bi-monthly glossy magazine Watch! adds Walmart to its newsstand distribution network this fall, The Good Wife’s Julianna Margulies will be on the cover of the October issue. The actress was photographed for the article at the Hôtel du Cap in the south of France.

That European country is a favorite editorial setting at the New York-based publication. For the cover of the current August issue (above), Under the Dome’s Rachelle Lefevre was snapped in Paris. Ditto LL Cool J for the December 2014 issue (below).

“We go to Paris frequently because that’s where the actors want to go, we have great relationships with hotels there, and airlines, and always save hard costs with barter deals,” Watch! editor in chief and gm Jeremy Murphy tells FishbowlNY. “All the major fashion advertisers are there—LVMH, Kerring, Hermès—and they appreciate you shooting in their backyard.”

“There is also an incredible talent pool of photographers, make-up artists, hair wardrobe stylists to choose from, so you don’t have to fly anyone in,” he adds. “Finally, it’s Paris—the most picturesque city in the world!”

Watch! was launched in 2006. Alongside Murphy, the editorial team includes publisher Michael Rizzi, managing editor Jennifer Goddard and creative director Meagan McLaughlin. Paid circulation is just above 180,000, while overall reader reach per issue exceeds one million.

The other feature articles in the current August issue include a profile on NCIS’ Brian Dietzen and Big Brother host Julie Chen. Dietzen is also on an alternate cover for August; lucky Lefevre was shot in and around Plaza Athénée.
