Ari Shapiro and Kelly McEvers Report for NPR ATC Duty

Taking full reign of the show for the entire week.

This afternoon’s broadcast of NPR’s All Things Considered will feature the vocal stylings of Ari Shapiro and Kelly McEvers, who make their debut as hosts.

It will be just the two anchors this week, who join current hosts Audie Cornish and Robert Siegel as part of the new weekday ATC host rotation. Both Shapiro and McEvers will anchor from D.C. this week, but beginning the week of Oct. 5, McEvers will anchor from the West coast, making the show bicoastal for the first time.

Today’s lineup will include, among other segments, an interview between McEvers and NPR correspondent Sylvia Poggioli about the Pope in Cuba and an interview between Shapiro and Brookings Institution senior fellow Constanze Stelzenmüller about the Schengen Agreement, which created the European Union’s open border policy.

In a meta moment this past Friday, McEvers and Shapiro appeared on ATC to talk with Cornish and Siegel about their upcoming hosting debut.
