U.K. media agency m/Six, a joint venture of WPP's GroupM and creative shop CHI & Partners, which WPP owns 49 percent of, has entered the U.S. market.

David Stopforth, a former group strategy director at Publicis Groupe's Zenith Media, is leading a new m/Six operation in New York as managing director. He reports to global CEO Jess Burley.

The agency's only other office, in London, has about 70 staffers. For now, Stopforth is an "Army of one" in New York, operating out of CHI's office on Spring Street.

CHI, headquartered in London, launched its New York outpost in 2007.
