This week, Wieden + Kennedy NY is launching a pop-up shop in its agency space that will showcase and sell the output of edgy New York City fashion designers and curators.
Free and open to the public for five days beginning Thursday, June 16, SHOP designers will offer pieces at prices ranging from sample sale to full retail, and also do custom orders. DJs Fool’s Gold Records are spinning music; Eddie Huang, from Baohaus in the East Village, is preparing Taiwanese street food. W+K is acting as the event’s host and won't profit from it in any way.
As the agency prepares to renovate its offices in September, the floor is currently empty. Instead of letting it sit, W+K is giving SHOP sellers free rein in how they design their sales space, with that aspect of retail creativity expected to be part of the event’s draw.
SHOP is open on W+K’s sixth floor at 150 Varick St., June 16, 5-9 p.m.; June 17, 5-9 p.m.; June 18, 1-7 p.m.; June 19, 1-7 p.m.; and June 20, 5-9 p.m.
