The Richards Group brings back the funny guys wearing fruit suits in a new holiday television commercial for Fruit of the Loom.

The 15-second spot, which broke Nov. 18 on national network and cable TV, shows the Fruit Guys running and tumbling downhill in the snow bearing armloads of underwear and socks.

The Dallas agency said the characterswill make “periodic appearances” in the client’s future ads. Marketing plans call forcontinuing the branding initiative begun this summer under the tagline, “Good days start with Fruit of the Loom.”

Said agency principal Diane Fannon, in a statement, “The Fruit Guys are … associated with value and evoke a feeling of nostalgia with our consumers.”
