Thymes Turns to Duffy for Design

CHICAGO Bath and body product maker The Thymes has hired Duffy & Partners to design its product offerings.

The Minneapolis shop’s first work will focus on two new product lines set to launch in 2005. The agency will also devise a new brand identity for the company that can be applied across packaging, collateral and trade show applications.

“The Thymes is at a point in our history where we are interested in aligning ourselves strategically with people who will help us stretch and grow,” said Leslie Ross Lentz, founder and chairman of The Thymes in a statement. “Joe and the Duffy team are people who will do this. They not only care about what’s necessary, but also what’s appropriate for our business.”

The assignment marks the first time the Minneapolis-based company has hired an outside design company for a long-term relationship. Since the company’s founding in 1982, product packaging has incorporated works of art by Lentz, as well as raffia and hand-wrapped ribbons.

Billings were not disclosed. It could not be immediately determined if the company has a lead advertising agency.
