NEW YORK Terra Networks said today that its Hispanic Web portal Terra.com would promote the upcoming Warner Music DVD release of Mexican rock group Mana via a bilingual online push comprised of contests, community pages, Webisodes, interviews and other content.
Under the deal, Terra will provide online programming to tout Mana’s April 29 release of Arde en Cielo con Mana, including the relaunch of the rock group’s artist page with new videos, photo galleries, bios, trivia, sneak previews of the DVD and a promotional contest in which online users will compete to become the ultimate Mana fan, per a statement.
“In this new digital world, we need to cater to a consumer who is eager for new content and open to new ways to relate to their favorite bands,” Gabriela Martinez, vp, marketing, Warner Music Latin America, said in a statement. “I can’t think of a better way to start off this relationship with Terra than with a band like Mana.”
Terra users will vote to select the top five ultimate fan finalists and the band will select the winner, who will attend the release party and serve as the event’s blogger on the Web.
A Gibson guitar autographed by the band will be part of an upcoming giveaway. Terra TV personality Luisa Fernanda will host as many as four Webisodes featuring interviews with Mana, per a company representative.
