TBWA Wins $30 Mil. Adecco Business

NEW YORK Swiss employment recruiter Adecco has selected TBWA\London to handle creative duties on a new global advertising account with billings estimated at $30 million, sources said.

The selection came after a review in which the London office of WPP Group’s Young & Rubicam was the other finalist, said sources.

Omnicom Group’s TBWA declined to comment, but sources said the Zurich-based Adecco, which competes with Manpower, assigned the business this week. Y&R also declined comment.

TBWA and Y&R emerged after four London shops made presentations to client executives in November. The other presenters were Interpublic Group’s Lowe and WPP’s Ogilvy & Mather, according to sources.

Though the agencies’ London offices led their efforts, some shops pooled talent from other offices.
