TargetCast tcm on Wednesday announced it has promoted the two senior buyers in its national broadcast department.
Effective immediately, Gary Carr assumes the newly created role of senior vp, executive director of national broadcast. The 25-year media agency veteran has managed broadcast operations at TargetCast since the company was founded in 2002.
Carr previously served as senior vp, national broadcast director. Prior to joining TargetCast, Carr held senior national broadcast management positions at Media First International, MediaVest and Ammirati Puris Lintas.
Michael Parent, who joined TargetCast in late 2007 as vp, associate director of national broadcast, assumes Carr’s previous responsibilities as vp, director of national broadcast. Before coming to the independent shop, Parent had been associate media director, national broadcast, at OMD, where he managed national TV for a roster of clients that included: Visa, Absolut, PepsiCo and Dial.
The move frees Carr to focus on broadcast strategy, while Parent will oversee the department’s day-to-day operations, said TargetCast co-founder and president & CEO Steve Farella.
“Gary has been a crucial part of this agency almost since day one, building and directing an incomparable broadcast team,” Farella said. “And in the relatively short time Mickey Parent has been with us, he has demonstrated the strategic thinking and strong leadership skills that will ensure his success in managing our national broadcast department.”
New York-based TargetCast boasts a staff of 70 full-time employees, with estimated total billings of $500 million.
