NEW YORK There’s seemingly no end to the good things springing from the empire Martha Stewart Living begat—rugs, lighting, crafts, flowers, custom homes, paint, a Sirius channel, a daytime TV show and print offshoots like runaway hit Everyday Food, which itself gave way to a best-selling cookbook and radio show. This year brought a collection of housewares and textiles at Macy’s and food line at Costco. Next comes Gallo’s Martha Stewart Vintage wines. It remains to be seen whether Stewart will succeed in adding a municipality to her domain—a campaign to trademark the name of her hometown Katonah, N.Y., for a furniture line has had the community in an uproar. Marthaburg anyone?
