Stuart Smith has rejoined Wieden + Kennedy in New York to helm the planning department.
Smith (pictured) held a similar post at the independent agency’s office in London from 2003-08. Now, he fills a vacancy left by the recent promotion of Neal Arthur to managing director in New York.
Arthur praised Smith’s expertise in the discipline, his digital acumen as well as his past two years’ experience as director of planning at Google Creative Lab.
During his earlier half-decade at W+K in London, the agency grew to 160 employees from 25, servicing key clients like Nike, Nokia, Procter & Gamble and EA.
“The New York office has amazing talent, the crazy-sensible Wieden philosophy and a progressive new ambition,” Smith said in a statement.
