SMG Names Simpson CMO

Southwest Media Group in Dallas has hired Matthew Simpson as chief marketing officer to oversee marketing efforts and growth. Simpson will report directly to Bob Nichol, SMG president and CEO. Simpson was previously Dallas marketing manager for Metro Networks, a division of Westwood One, working with clients such as Pizza Hut, Southwest Airlines and Pier 1. Before that, he was director of business development and director of national radio for Carat USA in Los Angeles. From 1994-97, Simpson was broadcast negotiator, account executive and account supervisor at International Communications Group.
