Sapient Names CD for Experience Division

BOSTON Former Digitas vp, cd Matthew Pollock has joined Sapient as cd of the company’s experience marketing practice.

In this new role, Pollock will oversee campaigns for clients of Sapient’s Cambridge, Mass., headquarters.

“Matt brings a wealth of experience, creative ideas and fresh thinking to Sapient,” said the firm’s CCO, Gaston Legorburu. “He has an outstanding track record of driving highly successful online and offline marketing campaigns for the world’s most prestigious brands.”

Pollock spent 13 years at Digitas in Boston, working on efforts for Ameriprise, AT&T, Best Buy, Cadillac and Delta Air Lines, among others. Digitas was acquired for $1.3 billion by Paris-based holding company Publicis Groupe as the year began.

Sapient has been trying to attract top creative talent in order to grow from its consultancy roots into a more full-service model. The company’s experience practice offers online and offline media strategy, real-time campaign optimization, analytics and database management and Web site design.

Key Sapient clients include BP, Essent Energie, Harrah’s Entertainment, Hilton International, Janus, National Institutes of Health (NIH), Sony Electronics, the U.S. Marines and Verizon.
