Roberts Hires McGough to Oversee Creative

ATLANTA Gregg McGough has joined Roberts Communications as creative director, replacing Amy Phillips, who left in June, the shop said.

McGough, 49, will supervise all creative production at the independent Tampa, Fla., shop.

For the past seven years, McGough had been creative director at Peak Biety, another independent Tampa shop. While there, he worked on the Nokia, Republic Bank, HTE Software and Moffitt Cancer Center accounts. He left Peak Biety in February and had been working freelance in the Tampa area.

“We’ve watched his work over the years,” said Colleen Chappell, executive vice president of Roberts. “He will bring new expertise in branding to our agency.”

Prior to Peak Biety, McGough was a senior art director at independent Slaughter Hanson in Birmingham, Ala, for seven years. He is a graduate of the University of Alabama at Birmingham and attended the Ringling School of Art and Design in Sarasota, Fla.

Roberts Communications is a 20-person shop whose clients include the Florida region of Verizon Wireless, The Beck Group of Dallas, Intelident Solutions of Tampa and the medical school at the University of South Florida. The agency does not disclose its annual billings.
