Now your teenage daughters can swoon over their own phone cards, as SCA Telecard has secured a license to use the image of heartthrob entertainer Ricky Martin.
Dallas-based SCA Telecard is a division of SDA Promotions, a giant marketing communications company and underwriter of prize giveaways. Since 1986, the firm has awarded more than $60 million in prizes in various promotions.
The singer, however, could be the star of one of the company’s largest promotions.
“Using Ricky Martin will make a real impact at the retail level,” said Darryl Bowie, vice
president of SCA Telecard. “Ricky Martin is very hot now and has the power to influence
buying behavior on the part of the consumer.”
SCA plans to offer retailers a variety of enticements to sign on the dotted line, including refund checks, discount programs and rebate deals. –J. Dee Hil
